This page is the contents page for an introduction to Informix-SQL, which is a relational database system. Although it seems old fashioned (and in the user interface, it certainly is), it is designed to run on large, expensive multi-user computers. These kind of machines offer a greater reliability than is offered by the average PC, and is much more cost effective than a network of PC's would be.
This document was originally written by Mary Ford, and then updated by Mike Meredith (who also translated it to the form you see now).
